FEMS
Hello!
The wonderful artworks you see above are all created by members of FEMS (Females for Equality Making Stuff). I was lucky enough to meet and interview the founding members of the group and they are truly some of the most lovely, warm and open women I've ever met. Within twenty minutes of meeting each other we were discussing pubic hair, porn and I felt comfortable saying and asking whatever I wanted knowing that I wouldn't be judged for it. If you identify as a women, are interested in art and live around Melbourne than I highly suggest you check them out! If you want to read the article I published on FEMS you can find it here:- http://placesmag.net/2015/04/28/meet-the-guys-behind-females-for-equality-making-stuff/
Or if you just want to go straight to the source head to their website- http://cargocollective.com/FEMS
Hope you're all having lovely Tuesdays!

Vegan cafe + friends with ink
The title of this post as 'Vegan Cafe' may be a tad misleading. Eden on the harbour, the cafe where a friend (the one with the awesome tattoo's) and I got this delicious vegan coconut cheesecake and mexican falafel isn't actually a completely vegan/vegetarian cafe. But it does serve more than one vege option which for Coffs Harbour is truly something to celebrate. The decor of the place is rustic and vintage and the food is great and affordable, all this and a coffee for under $20! Afterwards we went junk/op shopping and filled the car with unwanted objects of beauty. It sounds cliched but everything really can be new again if passed along to the right person, and there was never a person better at salvaging old treasures than Freya.

Everybody loves nice cream!
So I love ice cream, who doesn't? Creamy and sweet, crunchy or rainbow. Ice cream is what clouds and mountains are made out of in heaven, it's the thing millions of people suffer brain freezes devouring each and every year. There's just one catch. To make conventional ice cream you need milk. Milk that has been sucked from the infected and sore utters of cow and contains a myriad of growth hormones, anti-biotics and chemicals. Milk that the mother wants to feed it's child so it can grow up to be healthy and strong, the same way our mother's have been able to do for us.
The life of a dairy cow and the baby calves she gives birth too (which are often killed to produce veal) are not pretty, not nearly as pretty as the ice cream which is produced at the end of the deadly cycle. But fear not, this post isn't about cows milk, in fact it's not even about ice cream. It's about how everybody loves nice cream!! (crowd cheers in the background)
Nice cream is essentially frozen banana blended with any other fruit you desire and it is delicious, simple, healthy and 100% cruelty free. All you have to do is freeze the fruit overnight, chuck it in a blender/food processor and ta da! You've got a creamy bowl of nice cream for brekkie.
The one I had this morning had three bananas, three kiwi fruit and two strawberries but like conventional ice cream the nice cream flavours you can create are endless (just put #nicecream into instagram). So give it a try and give the cows a break.
Happy brain freezes!

Change
Hi!
As the title so subtly suggests this post is all about a wonderful and scary thing called change. Over the past year and a half change and I have been seeing a lot of each other. To sum it up in a sentence I've become a vegan, embraced feminism, quit binge drinking and left my job, friends and family to study creative and professional writing in Melbourne. But for anyone (if there was anyone) that happened to regularly read this blog before these changes wouldn't mean anything.
While I was blogging in 2013 I never offered any real information on who I was or what my life was like. It was just photo after photo of outfits that I never really wore in my everyday life (high heels for example) followed by two shallow sentences about how awesome the brand was. All I wanted from the blog was followers, recognition and free clothes. I wanted validation that I was good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough because it was too hard to believe it myself. I was blogging for all the wrong reasons and inevitably I got sick of it and left 'The Diamond Haze' laying dormant for over a year. But as we all know, a lot can happen in a year.
I changed and my attitude to blogging changed with it. I realised that when I felt like checking out fashion blogs I wasn't seeking out the professionals like Tuula or The Blonde Salad. These women, though beautiful and stylish were alien to me. They had photographer boyfriends and a wardrobe full of $700 dollar dresses. Their perfection had grown boring. I wanted something real and flawed and creative and passionate. I wanted the small time bloggers that share what they love and are independent from constant brand collaborations. So that's what I hope to become.
This blog is for me now and I plan to fill it with honesty and love and happiness.
So here's for change and second chances. I hope you will all enjoy. :)

Camberwell Markets
Hello strangers,
If you haven't heard of the Camberwell Markets and are lucky enough to live in Melbourne then I highly suggest paying a visit. It's got stacks on stacks of vintage and second hand clothing as well as infinite bits and bobs that are too random to need but too awesome not to want. Just like op shopping, you still have to dig through a lot of old supre gear and itchy cardigans but it makes it all the more worth it when you find a gem. After going only two Sundays I've picked up an Arnhem Kimono for $5, a vintage denim jacket, a 90s style sunflower dress and a printed midi skirt which is vintage from Mexico! It's all so cheap and the event has raised millions of dollars for charity! Shopping with a conscience has truly never looked this hipster (insert winky face emoji).
I hope that wherever you are your lives are feeling sunny.

Land of Lost Treasures
Hi!
These are some snaps from my newborn etsy shop 'Land of Lost Treasures'. If you like vintage clothing and denim then please please check it out.
The idea to open this online vintage clothing store came to me when I recently attended a group interview for the new Bonds store opening in Melbourne Central. As I arrived I was immediately taken aback by the calibre of the people I was up agianst. Half of the 50+ girls that were waiting looked as if they'd gotten lost on their way to a model casting and I, with my orange cardigan and crinkled resume was already feeling severly inadequate. Subdueing the urge to bolt I entered the conference room and somewhere between self-pity and overpriced underwear I realised that:-
A. I probably wouldn't get the job.
B. The above fact didn't really bother me.
C. There could be other ways for an unemployed uni student to make money.
Now I wasn't exactly keen to join my roomate in handing out catalogues for $10 an hour so instead I turned to fashion. Clothing and in particular vintage clothing has always been a passion of mine and I figured why not? Why not sell something I love instead of something I'm paid to love. Didn't the Bonds executives know that the matching chambray shirts they were rocking for $60 a pop could be found second hand for a mere fraction of the price?
Needless to say I didn't get the job and when I got the news I felt neither suprised nor dissapointed. In truth I don't have a passion for Bonds or customer service and I'm sure that many of the girls there would make far better retail assistants. But let me assure you this isn't merely a self depricating rant. I swear I am good at some things and with that in mind please check out my store-
